The hour and a half long season finale wasn’t any kind of respite, either. They tried to tie up all storylines (whether we remembered them or not) within this time. There was way too much happening and a lot of it was just plain confusing.
Basically it was a lot of running around with guns out and conveniently ending most storylines with straight up murder. I decided against a true recap, because quite honestly I don't even know what I just watched. Not good, True Detective, not good. There was the classic over dramatic writing and overlay cinematography. In the end the show just made me want to go hiking in a beautiful forest (sans a police shoot-off). It also has me shipping Rachel McAdams and Colin Farrell pretty hard (as much as I love her and Taylor Kitsch together). Here’s hoping season three brings us something better than the hellish ten episodes we just endured. What did you think about season two? Disagree with my hatred towards it?
