'Minority Report' Review

Set about 30 years in the future, and 10 years after the events in the movie of the same name (full disclosure: I have not seen the film), after the end of ‘Precrime’, one of the PreCogs still sees visions and tries to stop murders.

Since it’s filmed in Toronto (but set in Washington, DC),  it’s weird to see futuristic versions of the city we live in. But I do like that this future is a realistic one. Some cooler technology (but nothing unbelievable), and no monotonous uniforms that everyone wears. They can stop with the references to the ‘past’ (aka today), though. Haha, the middle-aged mom met the dad on tinder. Iggy Azalea as someone with oldie hits.

The plot itself is pretty intriguing, if not a bit idealistic and overdramatic in its writing. Following the same plot basics as a crime procedural, only in the future, I could see this show going the distance, since we all know those work. The futuristic twist really does give it a bit of a leg up.

I would definitely say this one is worth checking out, although it may not become a regular viewing, just one to pop in and out of on occasion.
