Katherine Heigl Takes Over Lead Role in CBS Drama

The queen of drama herself (real life, not television), Katherine Heigl is taking over the lead role in a new CBS drama.

After playing a doctor and a CIA-analyst, Heigl will now play a lawyer.

CBS has revamped its drama pilot Doubt, where Heigl will play Sadie Ellis, billed as a “smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets romantically involved with one of her clients, who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.”


The show was originally shot for this year's pilot season, but CBS re-cast and re-shot the project, rather than pick up the title to series.

The role was originally played by KaDee Strickland. Heigl's costars include Laverne Cox, Dule Hill, Dreama Walker and Elliott Gould.

Heigl was most recently seen in the failed drama State of Affairs.
