Today the reward challenge was to be taken away from the rain to a place where they would have a roof over their head and where they would be warm. They split into two teams, the Green team with Wentworth, Kimmy, Fishbach, Jeremy, Keith and the Purple team with Tasha, Abbi, Joe, Spencer and Ciera. They basically played water basketball that turned into wrestling and everyone went so hard, it was amazing. The purple team won.
At the immunity challenge they were given a white and black rock each, and they had to personally choose whether or not to surrender their shot at immunity to get a better shelter for the whole camp. It was a huge decision for everyone. Joe and Keith were the only two not willing to give up their shot at security. So it was JUST Joe and Keith doing the challenge. Which is insane. Once again Joe came close to losing but won immunity in the end. Thank god since everybody was pissed at him. At tribal it was still divided between Ciera and Fishbach, and Jeremy was worried so he played his immunity idol for FIshbach. So this swayed the vote to make it so Ciera was the tenth person voted out and fourth in the jury. Shocking. Just shocking. This episode was so good. So good that it made it that much sweeter when we got to the second episode of the night, because I wouldn’t have been able to handle leaving it on that note. For the first challenge, it was individual reward, and going old school with puzzles throughout the jungle at nighttime. A classic! The reward was a chopper to another island where there would be plenty of food. Fishbach won by literally seconds against Spencer. He chose to bring Tasha and Jeremy with him. Meanwhile Wentworth found an immunity clue during the challenge, which let her know that the clue was dead centre underneath their fancy new shelter. These immunity clues are the best. Wentworth waits until everyone is gone from the shelter and she makes her move. It was a close call for her but she managed to pull it off. For immunity it was one of the all feet based challenge, making it difficult for Fishbach who has had the most trouble with his feet in the game. Unfortunately though, Joe finally lost, to Spencer, and for the first time is vulnerable to going home. At tribal council, Fishbach played his advantage and stole Joe’s vote (and voted in his place). But it wasn’t enough (mostly because he split his split his vote, like, what the eff). In the end Fishbach finally went home, and a panic attack almost happened to me. I did have to fan myself. Next week somebody gets injured and it might be Joe. It’s all just too much.

For reward, the tribe was split into two groups, the winning one going to the Survivor spa, with showers, food and everything. The tribes were Purple with Tasha, Stephen, Spencer, Joe, Ciera against Green with Wigglesworth, Jeremy, Keith, Wentworth, and Kimmy with Abi not participating. The Purple team won the reward by a heavy lead.
While they were at the spa, Jeremy managed to find ANOTHER clue to an idol. This time, it was that he’d have to get up in the middle of the night when everybody is asleep to find the idol. This was a creepy way to get it because there is no light and you don’t know what’s out there. But he got it. So Jeremy is just stocking up on the idols. The immunity challenge was a balance one in the water, and it was pouring rain, which was not helpful (and the lightening made it almost unsafe?). At the 8 minute mark, Jeff gave the contestants the option of swimming to a buoy to get an advantage in the game but give up immunity. Spencer and Stephen were the only two to go for it, with Stephen just making it there first. Then acting like he won immunity (ugh). After STRUGGLING with the last two rounds of the challenge, and really looking like he wouldn’t make, Joe, once again, took home individual immunity. The only person to win it this season. Everyone was very concerned about splitting up Ciera, Wentworth and Abbi, when they should focus on getting out Jeremy while they can (and while he’s not expecting it). Their only valid point is that Wentworth plays the game smart. Stephen’s advantage was the ability to steal a vote at tribal council. This was one of the coldest, wettest episodes to date, and it almost made you chilly just to watch it. It also made me think that the person who got voted off must feel a little relief that at least they can get out of the rain. In the end, that person was Wigglesworth, becoming the ninth person voted out and third member of the jury.
The teams were the purple team with Wentworth, Kimmy, Wigglesworth, Joe, Ciera and Keith, and Tasha, Savage, Spencer, Jeremy, Fishback and Abi on the green team. While the purple team came close to making a comeback after falling behind, the green team took it in the end.
Stephen was having a real downer of a time after losing the reward, but he also took that time to try to get people on his side to vote Joe out as soon as possible. Unfortunately for him, Savage heard, and was not having any of it (aka, he went running to tell Joe). In an INSANELY close challenge between Keith and Joe, Joe once again won individual immunity. To the point I actually screamed out loud. Phew. And damn, that necklace looks goooood on Joe. There was talk of idols again at tribal, which was interesting because nobody has been searching. Turns out many people don’t think there even are idols, or they’ve been found (which is only true of one idol, which Wentworth has). That’s a very different tone than previous seasons. And on that note, Wentworth played hers (always better to do that than risk it when you’re at the bottom). It SHOCKED the whole group, which is an awesome moment to witness. It was a good thing she did play it because ALL the votes went to Wentworth except for the two that went to Savage, making him the eighth person voted out and second member of the jury. INSANE. INSANE!!!!!!!! Nobody saw that one coming. Now Joe might be slightly screwed because Savage was his ride or die in the game. The look on Wentworth’s face was classic, and everybody’s face for that matter. Just wow. This. This is what Survivor is about.
While they were stuck in a shelter, Fishback decided to serenade everyone with a poem. It was fucking magical.
As Joe describes the new individual immunity: “It’s fancy!” The first II challenge was a balance based one, and it’s a good thing Joe thinks the necklace is beautiful because he won it (!). I can’t be impartial towards Joe. I just love him so much. The voting this week was a straight up mess with votes just thrown ALL OVER THE PLACE. FOUR people were voted for. FOUR. In the end it was Kass that was voted off and became the first member of the jury(!), because merge = jury, even this early on. We hate Chaos Kass so we are not sad about this. And she makes a better jury member than she does a player. |
