Nicki Minaj opened the show, and halfway through her performance Taylor Swift made an appearance, officially putting an end to any leftover rumours of their mini-feud from when the nominations for the VMAs were originally announced. They even went into a verse of Swift’s song ‘Bad Blood’, just to really drive the point home, hugging at the end.

I really enjoyed Miley Cyrus as a host. She did a bit about what goes on behind the scenes of her Instagram account, which included appearances from Ike Barinholtz and Andy Samberg. She then pulled an Ellen at the Oscars selfie moment, but that was pretty lame.

Britney was the first presenter of the night, returning to the stage that she made legendary. 

Best Male Video went to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars for ‘Uptown Funk’.

Our Canadian homeboy The Weeknd performed (and killed it for someone who is the only person onstage for their performance).

Rebel Wilson made an appearance to let us all know that she hates the police (strippers).

Best Hip Hop video went to Nicki Minaj for ‘Anaconda’, and her and Rebel twerked it out onstage.

Demi Lovato performed at the VMAs for the first time, and she just seems like a real rad girl. Plus anyone who wears over-the-knee boots in any capacity makes me so happy. Iggy Azalea also showed up (in over-the-knee boots too, holla) half way through, which was fun. I just like seeing all these female artists supporting each other. 

Justin Bieber performed his hit of the summer and his new song. I gotta say, it’s nice to see our boy back closer to the kid we all fell in love with. I mean, he flew at the end and then cried. HE CRIED.

Miley Cyrus did a LOT of bits about weed. 

Tori Kelly performed in a very ‘artsy’ way.

Pharrell performed his song ‘Freedom’. He also tried to give a speech, but come on, man, nothing compares after Kanye.

Fetty Wap won the Artist to Watch award.

Twenty One Pilots and A$AP Rocky performed. Which was just as annoying as you’d expect it to be.

Video of the Year went to Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar for ‘Bad Blood’. Ugh. Any of her videos but that one, please. Of course she brought her whole squad onstage to accept it, too.

We got a VERY quick Miley nip-slip. Which is something she's been fighting hard for, so accidental or not, she got what she wanted and guess what - the world did not end.

BFFs/loves of our lives Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer continued their week of awesomeness by dancing barefoot on Billy Joel's piano.

The duo were at Joel's Chicago concert, and jumped up onto his piano to dance to his hit, 'Uptown Girl', which played a prominent role in Schumer's film, Trainwreck.  

Alison Brie and Dave Franco are engaged, his rep has confirmed.

Brie showed off her ah-mazing ring at a screening of her new film, Sleeping with Other People on Monday night.

The pair have been dating since 2012.

Fear the Walking Dead (the highly anticipated companion series to The Walking Dead) opened to record-setting ratings on Sunday night.

Comedian Tracy Morgan married his love Megan Wollover on Sunday night, in an intimate ceremony.

"After almost losing Tracy last year, I am so grateful to finally be married to the love of my life," Wollover said. 

Wollover, 28, and Morgan, 46, share a 2-year-old daughter, Maven.

Morgan has been on the road to recovery since his June 2014 accident, when a Walmart tractor-trailer slammed into his limousine in New Jersey.

Morgan was determined to walk down the aisle, saying: "I don't want to walk my wife down the aisle with a cane or in a wheelchair. So I had to go hard with the therapy … I had to get better. There was no ifs, ands or buts about it." 

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have finally tied the knot.

According to People & TMZ, the couple exchanged vows in front of 70 family members and friends on Wednesday at their home in Bel Air.

Many of the stars' celebrity friends attended the party, including Lisa Kudrow, Sia, Chelsea Handler and John Krasinski.

Aniston, 45, and Theroux, 43, got engaged after a year of dating in August of 2012.

Reps for the pair have yet to confirm the wedding, but from the pictures TMZ has snagged, it looks pretty legit (there was a minister there, and they don't typically frequent birthday parties with bibles in hand).

Musicians Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are divorcing, after 20 years together, and almost 13 years of marriage.

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time," the couple said in a statement Monday.
