Holly Madison has spoken out about her time at the Playboy mansion as Hugh Hefner's #1 girlfriend.

The Girls Next Door star didn't hold back anything when giving details about her time at the mansion. If you're a reality TV junkie you'll love the behind the scenes of the show, but the tale she tells is also one of warning.

Madison was the victim of an emotionally abusive relationship. She goes into details about how Hefner would pit his girlfriends against each other until their self esteem was near extinct (and that's just the tip of the iceberg of abuse).

I'm rewatching the show right now and it's obvious now just how terrible he is. His strict rules (such as a 9pm curfew) don't allow the girls any freedom.

The book focuses mostly on the mansion and reality TV life, but the end briefly covers her life since then (she's married with a kid now). 

She talks a lot about the girls who were less than nice to her, and those are the only parts I'm hesitant to believe. That seems like one side of petty drama more than the truth. I do believe everything she says about Hefner though. She speaks like a girl who was trapped and manipulated for so long and has finally come to terms with the terrible situation she was in.

It is very empowering to read, and hopefully she can reach out to some people who might be looking to leave a bad situation.

She's also very smart. A lot of the girls who came and went through the mansion were (despite the popular 'bimbo' belief). And for this reason, the book is actually really well written. It's easy to read and a page-turner. It would make a great book club pick because you'll just want to discuss how INSANE this life she led is with everybody you come across.

Now I would just like more tell-alls from every girl mentioned in the book.
